What do you install and what do I arrange?

This is the question most quotes leave vague. Here is the straight answer so you can compare us properly against anyone else.

We do the strip out

The old suite, the old panels and the old pipework come out and go with us. No skip sat on your street waiting for a permit.

We do all the plumbing

Supply and waste pipework for the bath, shower, toilet and basin. Run properly and clipped, not left loose under the floor. All by our Gas Safe engineers.

We fit the wall panels

Waterproof panels to the wet areas and the walls you want covered. No grout lines and nothing to reseal in two years.

We supply and fit the suite

Bath, shower enclosure, toilet, basin, vanity, taps and valves. Fitted, sealed and tested. If you would rather buy your own we will quote labour only.

You arrange the floor

Floor tiles, vinyl or LVT are down to you. We leave the floor clean and ready. Most customers book their floor fitter for the day after we finish.

You arrange any tiling

We are not tilers. We fit panels instead. If you want tiled walls you book your own tiler and we work around them at first fix.

You arrange decorating

Plastering above the panel line and any painting is not in our price. We will tell you at the survey if your walls need making good first.

Why we say this up front

A quote that includes tiling and flooring will look higher than ours. That does not always make it worse value. Ask every fitter you speak to what is excluded, then compare the totals. We would rather you did that than find out halfway through a job.

Are bathroom wall panels better than tiles?

Panels are cheaper, quicker and have no grout to keep clean. Tiles win on choice and on resale appeal in higher value homes. Here is the honest comparison.

What matters Wall panels Tiles
Cost of the wall finish 40 to 60 percent less Higher, plus a tiler's day rate on top
Time to fit Hours 3 to 5 days for a full bathroom
Grout to clean and reseal None Yes, and it darkens over time
Trades needed One team, one visit A separate tiler you book yourself
Choice of pattern and texture Limited to the panel ranges Almost unlimited
Appeal to a buyer on resale Fine in most homes Stronger in higher value homes
Repairing damage later Whole panel usually replaced Single tiles can be swapped
Which one we would tell you to pick

For a working family bathroom, panels almost always make more sense. The money saved on the wall finish buys a better suite. For a period property, or a house at the top of its street's price range, tiles are usually worth the extra and the extra trade. We will tell you which way we would go in your room at the free survey, even when that means telling you to spend more elsewhere.

How much does it cost to replace a bath with a shower?

A bath to shower conversion in Liverpool starts at £2,200 and takes 2 to 3 days. It is the single job we are asked for most often.

What the job actually involves

The bath comes out first. The old taps and waste are capped or adapted, and this is usually where problems show up. A bath that has been in for twenty years often hides a rotten floorboard or a waste joint that has been weeping. We check for that before anything new goes in and we tell you what we find.

The tray is set and levelled, the valve is fitted and the walls behind the shower are panelled. Then the enclosure goes on and the whole thing is tested. If getting in and out of a bath is the reason for the job, ask about a low level tray. It makes the step in much smaller and costs no more to fit.

Check your water system before you buy a shower

This is the thing that catches people out. A shower that is wrong for your water system will dribble no matter how good it is. A combi boiler, a vented cylinder and an unvented cylinder all behave differently. We check what you have at the survey and match the valve to it. If you have already bought a shower, bring it out and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.

How does a bathroom installation work?

Six stages from the first visit to the day we hand the room back.

1
Free survey

We come out, measure the room and check where the existing pipes and waste run. That last part matters more than people expect, because moving a waste is what turns a simple job into an expensive one. The survey takes about 45 minutes and costs nothing.

2
Fixed price quote

You get the full spec written down with a fixed price. What is included is listed and so is what is not. If you want to change the suite or drop something to hit a budget, we adjust it before you commit.

3
Strip out and disposal

The old bathroom comes out and leaves with us. You do not need a skip and you do not need a permit for one.

4
First fix plumbing

New supply and waste pipework goes in and gets clipped properly. If we find damp, rot or a failed waste under the old suite, we show you and price the fix before carrying on. Nothing gets covered up.

5
Panels and second fix

Wall panels go up. Then the bath or enclosure, the toilet, the basin and the vanity are fitted and plumbed in. Taps and valves on, everything connected.

6
Test and handover

Every joint tested under pressure. Silicone finished properly. The room cleaned before we leave, not left for you to do.

Why choose us to install your bathroom?

Gas Safe registered, insured, fixed price, and straight about what we do and do not do.

Gas Safe and insured

All plumbing by Gas Safe registered engineers. We hold £2 million public liability cover. Every job carries a 12 month workmanship guarantee.

Fixed price in writing

The quote is the invoice. If we find something behind the old bath that needs doing, we show you and price it before we touch it. You decide.

Electrician on the team

Lights, extractor fans and shower circuits are done by our Part P and NICEIC registered electrician at Ideal Electrical Solutions. Booked into the same schedule.

In and out in days

Most bathrooms take 3 to 5 working days. Panels are a big part of why. You are not living around a half finished bathroom for three weeks.

We tell you what we are not

We are not tilers and we do not lay floors. Saying so up front is the reason our quotes are comparable rather than surprising.

Emergency plumbers too

Bathroom fitting is one part of what we do. If something goes wrong with the bathroom we fitted, you are calling a firm that answers the phone out of hours.

Bathroom fitters in Liverpool: your questions answered

The things people ask before they book a survey.

COST  How much do bathroom fitters in Liverpool cost?

A full bathroom installation in Liverpool costs from £3,500 supply and fit. An en suite is from £3,000. A bath to shower conversion is from £2,200. A shower enclosure and tray is from £900. A like for like shower swap is from £200. The price covers the suite, the waterproof wall panels, all plumbing and waste work and the fitting. Floor covering and any wall tiling are arranged separately by you.

INCLUDED  What is included in the £3,500 bathroom installation?

The £3,500 price covers the full strip out and disposal, all plumbing and waste work, waterproof wall panels, the bath or shower enclosure, the toilet, the basin and vanity, all taps and valves, sealing, testing and a clean on the day we hand over. It does not include floor covering, wall tiling, plastering or decorating.

TILING  Do you tile bathrooms?

No. We fit waterproof wall panels instead of tiles. Panels are fully waterproof, have no grout to go black, and go up in hours rather than days. If you want a tiled bathroom you arrange your own tiler and we work around them. We will tell you at the survey which option suits your room.

FLOORS  Do you lay bathroom floors?

No. Floor covering is arranged by you, whether that is floor tiles, vinyl or LVT. We leave the floor clean and ready for your fitter. Most customers book their floor for the day after we finish.

TIME  How long does a bathroom installation in Liverpool take?

A full bathroom installation takes 3 to 5 working days. An en suite takes 2 to 4 days. A bath to shower conversion takes 2 to 3 days. A shower swap takes half a day. Wall panels are a large part of why the job is quicker than a tiled bathroom.

PANELS  Are bathroom wall panels better than tiles?

Panels are cheaper, faster to fit and have no grout to clean or reseal. Tiles win on choice of pattern and on resale appeal in higher value homes. For a working family bathroom, panels are usually the better buy. For a period property or a high end refit, tiles are often worth the extra. We give you the honest answer for your room at the survey.

SHOWER  How much does it cost to replace a bath with a shower?

A bath to shower conversion in Liverpool starts at £2,200. That covers removing the bath, capping and adapting the old supplies and waste, fitting the tray and enclosure, fitting the valve and panelling the walls. The job takes 2 to 3 days. It is our most requested single job.

SUITE  Do you supply the bathroom suite?

Yes. The price includes the suite, the taps and the enclosure, supplied and fitted. If you would rather buy your own suite we will fit it and quote you for labour only. Tell us at the survey which you prefer.

GAS SAFE  Are you Gas Safe registered and insured?

Yes. All plumbing work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers. We hold £2 million public liability cover and every job carries a 12 month workmanship guarantee. Manufacturer cover on the suite and taps runs separately and varies by product.

ELECTRICS  Who does the electrical work?

Our sister firm Ideal Electrical Solutions handles it. We have a Part P and NICEIC registered electrician on the team who wires the lights, the extractor fan and the shower where needed. It is booked into the same schedule so you are not chasing a second trade.

PAYMENT  How much do you need paying up front?

Nothing before the survey, and the survey is free. Payment terms are agreed in writing with the quote before the job is booked in.

ACCESS  Do you fit accessible bathrooms?

Yes. We fit low level shower trays, grab rails and raised toilet seats. Replacing a bath with a level access shower is the most common change we make for customers who are struggling to get in and out of a bath. Call 0151 558 0334 and we will talk it through.

Where do you fit bathrooms in Liverpool?

All Liverpool postcodes and the wider Merseyside area.

Liverpool city and south

Older houses in south Liverpool often have solid walls and a waste that runs a long way to the stack. We check both at the survey, because that is what decides whether a layout change is cheap or expensive.

Plenty of rental property here, and landlords need a bathroom done between tenants rather than over a month. A panelled bathroom in 3 to 5 days suits a void window better than a tiled one.
